About us

The company Graetz sees itself as one of the pioneers in the field of radiation measurement technology.

Since the foundation for almost 75 years, we have been developing, manufacturing and distributing radiation measurement devices worldwide for a wide range of industries and applications at our location in Altena, Germany.

The intended use of our products is for nuclear safety and radiation protection of humans who have to work with this invisible, not smellable danger of hazardous radiation.

For this responsibility the ambition of Graetz is to produce very reliable products and fulfill highest requirements for the quality standards of ISO 9001, Military quality management standards and traceable to the SI units (approved by the National Metrology Institute of Germany, called PTB).

Our products are used in a wide range of applications. But our main markets are Fire brigades and civil defence as well as customs, police or other authorities.

Products & Services

Intersec - Fire & Rescue
Intersec - Homeland Security
Our products cover almost all measurement tasks that arise in radiation protection.

Electronic personal dosemeters for personal radiation protection to measure the dose equivalent.

Dose rate meters to measure the ambient or local dose rate equivalent.

Radiation warning lamps for identifying hazardous areas with a specific dose rate in order to cordon them off.

Telescopic instruments to measure high dose rates up to 10 Sv/h from a safe distance approximately 4 meters or for hard-to-get places.

Portable contamination monitors for the high-sensitive measurement of Alpha, Beta and Gamma contaminations.

We have also solutions for area monitoring which are preferably used for permanent stationary room monitoring of isotope laboratories, radiotherapy rooms, storage rooms for radioactive materials and so on.

Especially for fire brigades we offer special radiation protection equipment, so called measuring squad cases, for the different measuring tasks fire fighters may be confronted with during their mission.

RadXplore-ident

The RadXplore-ident is a portable and easy-to-use Radionuclide Identifying Device (RID) for emergency response. With this device radioactive sources can be found, localized and then quickly identified.
